... Do you think that the dragons and dinosaurs ruled before humanity came along? Perhaps they had amazing magic and science and worshiped a god of some kind! A giant lizard god!

Perhaps their god left them as well, and in the cataclysm that followed their great empire fell, and they all died out in the changed world. It could have happened to us as well, easily.

Huh, I wonder if humans could pray to an ancient lizard god? Would that work? Would it understand us?
