Demons are born corrupted. Angels are beyond corruption.
Humans have a choice. Made every moment of every day.
And yet... give a human power, and the corrupting forces grow even more alluring. Why is this? Would not power be a bulwark against sin? You can achieve more good, you have less needs, you are respected more than any of the "weak".
But this is not the case. Every day I am forced to make choices that come laced with sin, with impurity. Perhaps that is the problem. To be "weak" is to be blessed. The choices are simple, and always you are given a choice to remain pure.
But to wield power, to maintain it, you must again and again make choices that are flawed. Always saying "But this is the best choice I can make", not knowing if you deceive yourself. Perhaps... knowing... you deceive yourself.
But we have a plan. We will take the corruption into ourselves, and then... when we are gone...
Perhaps the weak can be free of it.
