The "return to mundanity" that I hear so many pushing for fills me with unease. As much as I love and respect our past, and all that it has given us, we no longer live within that time. The world, and humanity, has forever been changed by the events we have persevered through. To try and claw back a time from before... how would that work? Would we act out parts and play pretend? Do we attempt to wipe from our world all that makes it magical? Let us not forget the great horrors that existed, and were documented, by our pre-(H)istory brethren.

At best our Mundanity would be a cheap facsimile, and at worst it would be a lobotomization. Let us appreciate the past, take from it what we can, and move forward gracefully.
