Magica IS energy, but ontop of that it can also MANIPULATE energy. It can soak up energy, causing intense cold, or it can release energy to cause blistering flames. "Elemental" magic is a hallmark of many Wizards, and even causing the winds to rise can be achieved through drastic decompression and expansion of temperature.

Most homes use Magica to create a comfortable internal temperature, and many use it instead of mundane fuel for stove-tops and cooking accessories.

It is so useful in so many ways that there is a constant demand to integrate it ever further into our lives and society. It is hard to imagine that there was a time where humanity existed without it, and even thrived.

Still, some things cannot be improved upon, such as the simply perfect down comforter I purchased recently. So soft, so warm, and not a hint of Magica!
