It is so strange that relatively few beings can learn to speak. Humans of course do so quite naturally. All reports point to Demons also being erudite, as are angels. Some roaming monsters apparently have the capability of speech, although they are rare and some adventurers report this phenomena to be that of mimicry to lure in the unsuspecting.
But why can not the common animal learn? They can demonstrate great intelligence at times, and in a world of magic and wonder would it not be possible for them to be elevated beyond their previous limitations?
I believe it has a lot to do with a lack of brain stimulation in the womb, alongside missing components in the throat. Both of these things are fairly easily rectified by my precise tools, and I have begin to explore paths of "Magica-lution".
So far my results have not been... palatable... to other wizard, but I am positive in time the world will recognize the importance of such research!
Also I would be very pleased if I could more easily converse with my kitty.
