It is interesting to note that there are some "blessings" that seem to effect us all, in ways we never notice. Of course there does seem to be a greater propensity for pre-(H)istory people to get sicker far more than any of us ever do. Also there are numerous reports of human births being incredibly difficult and even dangerous (!!!) in pre-(H)istory times. As we all know, this is absolutely not the case for modern births.
In my research I've also come across something described as "SIDS". This one is a bit too horrible to go into, but it shocked me. I have three children of my own, and I have never heard of anyone experiencing this phenomena, in modern times.
Again and again I wonder how different our daily lives are in small and large ways, from those people who came before us.
It is so hard to be grateful for what we have, when it is invisible...
