"Modern blessings, from our past."

Let us all give a small thanks that acute diseases and viruses no longer live among us. Yes, it may not feel like a lot, and even the idea of being afraid of mundane and invisible beings seems a bit silly, but all records show that many many people used to suffer and even die (!!) from pre-(H)istory infections.

It is easy to ignore what is no longer there, but I give thanks every day.

Well, not every day, but when I remember to, definitely.
